Students of Sharon Rogers will exercise both bodies and minds this weekend at the annual Spring Dance Concerts by Rogers Ballet. The program is called "You Oughta Be in Pictures."
Here are the details:
1) From the opening to the finale, ballet, tap, jazz and theater dance will be performed to music from films such as "The Wizard of Oz," "The Music Man" and "Broadway Melody." As part of the story line, a "producer" will look for someone to cast as his next big movie star.
2) The performance also will include several sections from the ballet " With A Song," which was choreographed by Friends University ballet director Stan Rogers and presented during the school's Spring Ballet last month.
Never miss a local story.
3) The program will be 90 minutes long and will feature students in Rogers Ballet as well as Friends University ballet majors .
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in Sebits Auditorium in the Riney Fine Arts Building at Friends University. There is no admission charge. For more information, call 316- 263-8014.
