A new traveling exhibit featuring the popular Mr. Potato Head toy opens this weekend at Exploration Place. It's the first of six traveling exhibits that Exploration Place will host during its 10th year of operation.
Here's what you need to know about the exhibit:
1) Designed especially for kids ages 3 to 8 years, the exhibit features Mr. Potato Head leading visitors on treks to an archaeological dig, outer space, the sea and the jungle.
2) The interactive exhibit is designed to develop school readiness and academic skills for young children, focusing on literacy, problem solving, mathematics, science and social studies.
Never miss a local story.
3) Activities for kids will include simulated adventures like launching into outer space, diving under the sea, roaming through a jungle and solving a maze to find a secret treasure.
4) "The Adventures of Mr. Potato Head" is included in general museum admission and is free for Exploration Place members. It will be at Exploration Place through May 9.
