January’s Starbird-Devlin Rod & Customs Charities Car Show raised some serious money for its three designated charities.
Starkey, The Arc of Sedgwick County and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas each received $45,000 from the event, for a record total.
More than 20,000 adults attended the three-day show at Century II Expo Hall, with nearly half that number being from outside of Wichita, according to event organizers.
“It’s been a goal of the show since we purchased it in 2011 to not only raise a lot of money for local charities but to also bring visitors and tourism to the city of Wichita and our local economy,” said Tim Devlin, the board chairman of the show. “We can’t thank enough our staff, countless volunteers and this community for the success they’ve helped make this show to help drive our community forward.
Never miss a local story.
