Chill cuts through the snow

Last weekend’s car/motorcycle event,"The Park City Chill," more than lived up to its name, coming on the heels of the first chapter of the big snowstorms that socked in Wichita and most of the state.
It was a tribute to just how seriously our gearheads take things that so many of them not only turned out to check out Richard Bartel’s fourth annual production at the Kansas Pavilions, but that so many of them actually got their bikes, cars and trucks out and put them on display.
Bartel said he had his moments of doubt and that attendance was down, but that things turned out pretty well after all. Of the 300 pre-registered cars, 168 were exhibited during the two-day show, more than 200 motorcycles were shown and more than 100 vendors were set up and doing business.
"For everyone that attended and to all of the vendors and exhibitors who braved the conditions, my wife Robin and I cannot thank everyone enough for all that you do," Bartel said. "As always, I can’t wait until next year to make the 2014 Park City Chill even better than years past."
For those who couldn’t make it to The Chill, here’s a sampling of what you missed. We’re also posting some extra pictures at www.kansas.com. Enjoy.
