You've probably noticed the Wheels page looks smaller today. No worries, mate, as they say in Australia.
The Sports section, which has graciously hosted us for several years, needed some extra room for the high school football preview this week, and for the college football preview next week. So we went with a "mini-page" featuring a "mini-car." We'll bulk back up to full-scale with the Sept. 4 issue.
Wheels page readers are Eagle-eyed folks, as the adjacent photo demonstrates. Here's what Ted Ayres wrote when he sent us the picture: "On July 13, as we began our first walking tour of the streets of Tallinn, Estonia, we came upon this pristine Pontiac "Executive" (a model I had not heard of). I though you might enjoy using it for your Saturday page. I'm guessing late '60s or early '70s?"
Never miss a local story.
Maybe GM should have checked the former Soviet Union before it killed off Pontiac. This one looks like a rebadged '68 Bonneville to me. Check out the nifty Cragar 5-spoke mags!
