Wichita State University's Center for International Business Advancement and the World Trade Council of Wichita will discuss doing business in the Middle East at its 32nd Annual World Trade Week 2008 this month.

The trade conference, called "Doing Business with Arab States-Middle East," will feature speaker Abdul Shaik, regional coordinator of the Middle East U.S. Department of Commerce.

He will talk about "Doing Business in Middle East: An Overview & Opportunities" with special reference to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan and Morocco, organizers said.

Other panels throughout the day will look at business in several Middle Eastern countries, the agriculture and food products trade of Kansas in the Middle East, and Wichita aircraft global operations, officials said.

Holly Vineyard, the U.S. Department of Commerce deputy assistant secretary for Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, will be the keynote speaker during lunch.

The conference will be held from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 15, followed by an evening reception, banquet and awards ceremony.
