Royals rally past White Sox 7-5 in series opener

The Royals defeated the White Sox 7-5 on Friday night at Kauffman Stadium in the series opener. Danny Duffy retired the first 16 hitters before the Sox took a 5-1 lead. But the Royals rallied behind Eric Hosmer to improvr to 25-22.

Larger funding cut translating to higher tuition

College students received another expensive lesson in cause and effect last week, as Kansas State University announced plans to increase its proposed tuition increase for the fall from 5 percent to 5.81 percent.
