Kansans take pride in being kind beyond the norms set in other parts of the country. Holding open a door at a busy convenience store, or a quick wave to oncoming county-road traffic, are small examples of our thoughtfulness.
An off-duty police officer recently spotted Kylie Hudlin at a local skating rink wearing shoes that were too small and hurting her feet. Kylie’s father is currently out of work and her grandfather has cancer. Now several people have banded together to get Kylie and her 14-year-old brother new shoes in time for school.
