Submit your home decor photos for a chance to win

home decor Perhaps it’s a mirror at the end of a dark hallway or a picture on an easel serving as a headboard for your bed. Do you have a favorite decorator touch that you've added to your house, or a design solution that you’ve found for a problem area? Snap a photo and upload it here, along with a brief description of what is pictured, by Feb. 20.

Your photo will be featured on Kansas.com and will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate. Three readers will win. Readers' photos may be featured in a future story in The Eagle's Home & Garden section in Saturday's paper. Please be sure to include your name and contact information so we can reach you.

Your photos must be smaller than 5 megs. Usually, if you "save for Web," you'll be just fine. Upload .jpg, .gif and .png files only.

If you have questions, e-mail acalovich@wichitaeagle.com.

Do you have a good candidate for Kansas' state dog?

TotoState Rep. Ed Trimmer has proposed that the cairn terrier, Toto's breed, should be the state dog of Kansas.

Not everyone thought that was a great idea.

We decided to make the process more democratic. Why not let Kansas' citizens propose their own state dog? And of course, we want to see the photos. Send us your photos of your favorite dog, and let us know in the caption field why you think he or she would be a good representative for the Sunflower State. Or just send us your photos without a pitch just to show off their cuteness. We'll feature them in a photo gallery on Kansas.com.

Be sure to include your name and e-mail address and daytime phone number. (We won't publish your contact information, but we may want to follow up with you about the photo.)
