Kansas will be forced to play Texas Tech in a play-in game for the Big 12 women's tournament, the conference announced Saturday. Kansas, Texas Tech and Baylor finished in a three-way tie for eighth in the Big 12, the final spot in the postseason tournament. On Friday night, the league announced Kansas earned the final spot, but reconsidered its decision Saturday.

"The language to break the three-way tie between Baylor, Kansas and Texas Tech is open to interpretation and can be applied in different ways," a league statement said."... The resolution is to conduct a play-in game between Kansas and Texas Tech."

The game will be Monday in San Antonio.

* The Class 6A boys regional game between East and Southeast will be completed Monday at 1 p.m. at Southeast. The game was suspended at halftime Thursday when field conditions deteriorated.

* Johnson County beat the No. 10 Hutchinson Community College women 1-0 in the Region VI Tournament semifinals at Topeka. Megan Weston scored the only goal in handing the Blue Dragons their first loss of the season.

VOLLEYBALL

Oklahoma overcame a career-high 22 kills from Kansas State's JuliAnne Chisholm to defeat the Wildcats 29-31, 25-20, 25-21, 25-17 at Norman, Okla.

* Sophomore Allison Mayfield collected a career-high 20 kills but it wasn't enough as Kansas lost 23-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-15 to No. 25 Texas A&M in Lawrence.

* Brittney Miller led No. 9 Emporia State with a career-high 22 kills as the Hornets rolled to a 25-17, 25-20, 26-24 win over No. 20 Nebraska-Omaha at Omaha.

* Friends defeated Ottawa 25-18, 25-12, 25-14 and Central Christian 25-17, 25-13, 25-9 to stay in the race for the KCAC title.

BASKETBALL

Delonte West scored 13 points in his delayed season debut, Mo Williams added 24 and LeBron James 14 as the Cleveland Cavaliers rolled to a 90-79 win over the Charlotte Bobcats.... Andre Iguodala scored 32 points, including the go-ahead three-point play in overtime, and the Philadelphia 76ers blew a 23-point lead before beating the New York Knicks 141-127.

GOLF

England's Ross Fisher beat Masters champion Angel Cabrera on the 39th hole to set up a World Match Play Championship final against American Anthony Kim, a 5-and-4 winner over Australia's Robert Allenby at Casares, Spain.

* PGA Tour officials canceled the weather-stricken Viking Classic because of unplayable course conditions in Madison, Wis. There will be no makeup date and players will move on to the final event of the season, the Children's Miracle Network Classic on Nov. 12-15 in Florida.

* John Cook took a six-stroke lead in a bid for his second Champions Tour victory in three weeks, shooting a 5-under 67 in the third round of the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship at Sonoma, Calif.

* Ian Poulter was 4 over through six holes in the third round of the Singapore Open, dropping the Englishman into a tie for the Singapore Open lead with France's Thomas Levet and Japan's Kodai Ichihara.

HOCKEY

Braydon Coburn scored twice and Scott Hartnell and Matt Carle each had a goal and two assists for Philadelphia in a 6-1 win over Carolina.... Rookie Tuukka Rask turned aside 19 shots in Boston's 2-0 win over Edmonton.... Ondrej Pavelec made 50 saves, and Rich Peverley had a goal and assist for Atlanta in a 3-1 win over Ottawa.... David Clarkson scored the lone shootout goal in the fourth round of the tiebreaker as New Jersey beat Tampa Bay 2-1.

Tennis

Venus Williams defeated Jelena Jankovic 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 in one semifinal at the Sony Ericsson Championships in Doha, Qatar. Serena Williams won the other when Caroline Wozniacki quit because of an abdominal injury while trailing 6-4, 0-1. The Williams sisters will meet in the final today.
