BASKETBALL
ESPN.com is reporting that Southeastern Conference commissioner Mike Slive says there are questions regarding the eligibility of highly touted Kentucky freshman John Wall. Slive says that there are "amateur issues" surrounding Wall. ESPN.com reported that Wall's issues stem from his relationship with AAU coach Brian Clifton, who was a certified agent between 2007 and 2008. Wall made at least two unofficial recruiting visits to Kentucky during that period.
* A fight over the shoes Michael Jordan's son will wear at Central Florida could cost the school financially. Freshman guard Marcus Jordan is refusing to wear shoes made by adidas, the brand the university has a five-year contract with for all its sports that runs out on June 30, 2010. He says he will only wear his father's Nike Air Jordan shoes because they hold special meaning to his family. There have been media reports that UCF is negotiating a new deal that could be worth up to $3 million and last up to six years.
