Track your federal tax refund on IRS site
Each Monday, The Eagle highlights a government record that is available to the public.

The record: The status of your federal tax refund, if you are due one.
Why you'd want it: To track processing of your refund and to resolve any issues about your refund.
Where you get the record: IRS.gov. Click on "Where's my refund" in the left-hand rail. You will need to provide your Social Security number, your filing status and the exact whole dollar amount of your refund.
How much it will cost: The information is free.
