The record: Tax warrants for Kansas businesses and individuals from the Kansas Department of Revenue. The list features businesses and people owing "large unresolved tax debts." The Revenue Department says on its Web site that it notifies those on the list that their names will be published.

Why you'd want them: To do a background check on a business or individual.

Where you get the records: Go to the secure Web site https://www.kdor.org/warrants.You can browse the lists or search for specific businesses or people.

How much it will cost: The information is free.
