The Texas Rangers activated Kason Gabbard from the 15-day disabled list on Thursday, allowing the left-hander to start against the Seattle Mariners.
Gabbard was placed on the disabled list on April 24 with back stiffness.
He gave up two hits with four walks and one strikeout over 3 2/3 scoreless innings and was involved in a benches-clearing fracas in Texas' 5-0 victory.
The club also activated infielder Travis Metcalf from the 15-day disabled list, optioned pitcher A.J. Murray to Triple-A Oklahoma and designated first baseman Ben Broussard for assignment.
