Despite losing to Northwest in its final City League baseball game of the season, North won its second consecutive league championship. The Redskins finished 14-2 in the league while Northwest finished second at 13-3.

Record breaker -- Maize senior Kurtis Schuyler broke the Maize record for career wins with 20. Schuyler is a three-year starter.
Schuyler started his career off solidly, winning a single-season record of nine games.

Coach Bryan Clasen knew last season that this group would be headed for good things, as they dominated junior varsity play. It took them a season to get adjusted to play at the varsity level, but now they're ready to go and poised to make some noise in the Class 6A regional.
