Opinion Line Extra (Nov. 3)

Politicians should not be lawyers. We are afraid of the Taliban when our biggest enemies are our politicians and lawyers. We are losing our freedom from within. Try to think of something that is not regulated. We need to regulate our politicians.

Afghanistan is corrupt now because we diverted our attention to Iraq, thus giving the Taliban opportunity to build up. Reasoning tells me that if we get out now, the monster will become a bigger monster.

President Bush never whined about the media because he controlled it and filtered what we could hear or see on the news. Plus, he planted stories with the media.

An old Negro spiritual goes: "If religion was a thing that money could buy, the rich would live and the poor would die." But wait — that's the way it is with our health care system.

If most people had not lost their jobs and lost their health insurance, they would be apathetic about health care reform. The time to reform is when we see the need to reform.

What happens when the people who can't pay for their life necessities outnumber the ones who can?

So it got leaked — Rep. Todd Tiahrt is being investigated for ethics violations. And he wants to be our senator.

My neighbor just got arrested for indecent exposure. It seems he decided to wear only clothes made in the USA, and the poor guy couldn't find enough to cover his body.

Jesus didn't have nuclear weapons. But Jesus is God, and God did once flood the entire planet, killing millions.

I've lived in seven states in my lifetime, and Wichita has by far the worst drivers. Their motto is "obey no laws."

I just wanted to tell the two women who were at the PetCo West Halloween party with their little dogs dressed as a Tootsie Roll and a piece of bubble gum that those costumes were the best I have seen in several years.
