The Missouri Valley Conference women’s basketball tournament will move to Moline, Ill., in 2016, according to the Dispatch-Argus of the Quad Cities.

The MVC and the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau scheduled news conferences for 2 p.m. Thursday. According to a story published at qconline.com, multiple sources stated the tournament will move to the 12,000-seat iWireless Center in a three-year deal. The tournament moved from campus sites to St. Charles, Mo., in 2008.

The move adds driving time for Wichita State fans.

Moline is 563 miles from Wichita, 143 more than the drive to St. Charles. One of Moline’s major selling points is the fact it is within 200 miles of Bradley, Illinois State, Drake, Loyola and Northern Iowa. WSU has won the past two MVC tournaments.
