A wet Wednesday looms for the Wichita area, forecasters say.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible, particularly along and southwest of a line from Russell to Wichita to Wellington, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs will be in the low 70s, with light southeasterly winds. Additional showers and thunderstorms are likely late into the evening and overnight, forecasters say, with lows settling into the low 60s.

More showers are likely on Thursday, with highs in the low 70s.
