— A well-known youth hip-hop dance program is being revived in Newport.

The Newport Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/JV2etp ) that Off the Curb, which was the subject of the award-winning documentary "The Heart of Hip Hop" is coming back after shutting down in 2008.

Jackie Henderson, the director of the nonprofit troupe, plans to begin offering hip-hop classes to children as young a 4-years-old though summer and after-school programs.

The group's goal is to better the lives of children and create leaders through artistic expression and celebrating diversity.

Stars from that documentary and others alumni will perform a reunion show at the Jane Pickens Theater in Newport on July 28 to help raise money to revive the troupe.
