— Jay Haas has withdrawn from the U.S. Senior Open with a back injury.

Haas won the Senior PGA Championship at Oak Tree National in 2006, the same course this year's Senior Open is being played on. He has played in 10 Senior Opens and has five top-10 finishes. He has 16 total Champions Tour wins.

Fred Hanover has replaced Haas and will compete in his first Senior Open. He shot a 72 at the Vista, California, sectional qualifier to earn first alternate status.
