A 22-year-old man is recovering after being shot twice as he sat on the front porch of a house near Maple Grove Cemetery early Thursday morning, police said.

The victim and another 22-year-old man were on the porch in the 1100 block of North Estelle at about 1:45 a.m. Thursday when a stranger walked up and fired as many as four shots at them, Lt. Dan East said. That’s near Ninth and Grove.

One of the men was struck in the right foot and the right leg by bullets, East said. At least one other bullet struck the house. Three other people were inside the house, but they were not hurt.

The man who was shot was taken by ambulance to Wesley Medical Center for treatment, East said.

No details on the suspect’s description were released.
