The Kansas Department of Commerce said Friday is the last day to nominate minority and women-owned businesses for its annual awards program.

KDOC said in a news release Thursday that nominees will be recognized at its Kansas Minority and Women Business Awards Luncheon, which is scheduled for Oct. 15 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka.

Nomination forms are available online at KansasCommerce.com/MEDweek. Paper nominations can be requested by e-mailing Rhonda Harris at rharris@kansascommerce.com or calling 785-296-3425.

Last year, LS Industries Inc. and Roof Mechanics Inc., both of Wichita, were among the firms recognized at the luncheon.
