Calling it an "historic" announcement, the Missouri Valley Conference said Tuesday it would reveal plans for future conference men's basketball tournaments on Wednesday.

The MVC Tournament has been played in St. Louis since 1991, but the Valley has courted its tournament to other citiies including Kansas City, Mo.; Chicago; Indianapolis and Las Vegas. The tournament is contracted to be at St. Louis' Scottrade Center through next season.

If the location of the news conference is any indication, the tournament is staying put. The announcement is scheduled for the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark Hotel. The conference offices are also located in St. Louis.
