Tuesday will be several degrees cooler than Monday in the Wichita area, with highs likely to top out in the upper 80s.

There’s a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, forecasters say. North-northeasterly winds will be in the teens, with gusts topping 20 miles an hour.

Lows tonight will be in the mid-60s under partly cloudy skies. Wednesday will be pleasant for mid-July, forecasters say, with highs in the upper 80s and light winds. There will be a few clouds around as well.

Slight chances for rain return Wednesday night and Thursday, when highs will nudge 90.
