To reach the Wimbledon men’s doubles final, Jack Sock and his partner have already defeated the second, fifth and eighth seeds.
Now only the top-seeded defending champions Bob and Mike Bryan remain in their way.
Vasek Pospisil and Sock, a four-time Class 6A champion at Blue Valley North, defeated the fifth-seeded team of Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek 7-6 (7-5), 6-3, 6-4 in Friday’s semifinal.
Sock, who won the U.S. Open’s mixed doubles title in 2011 with Melaine Oudin, will compete in his first Grand Slam final in men’s doubles.
The Bryans are back in a Grand Slam final — their first in four tournaments.
The Bryans beat Michael Llodra and Nicholas Mahut of France 7-6 (4), 6-3, 6-2 in a semifinal on Friday.
Left-hander Bob and right-hander Mike have a record 15 Grand Slam doubles titles, including three at Wimbledon. After the 2013 Wimbledon title, the Bryans held all four Grand Slam doubles titles simultaneously.
Saturday's winners will split $560,000.
