A crash Thursday evening at the intersection of Kellogg and West Street sent three people to area hospitals with serious injuries and snarled busy holiday highway traffic.

Two cars were involved in the crash, which occurred at approximately 6:02 p.m. Thursday, according to a Sedgwick County dispatcher.

One of the drivers, a 24-year-old woman, was being transported to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis. The other two were being taken to Wesley Medical Center, according to the dispatcher.

Wichita police units were blocking all westbound traffic and diverting drivers to West Street by 6:45 p.m., the dispatcher said.

Scanner traffic indicated “heavy traffic” between Meridian and Seneca streets around 6:45 p.m.
