An Independence Day service will be held Friday at Veterans Memorial Park, which is near downtown Wichita.

The 30-minute service will start at 1 p.m. at the park, 339 N. Veterans Parkway. That’s a short street along the Arkansas River that connects Central and Second.

An open house will follow the service, allowing those attending to ask veterans questions about the park’s memorials.
