A 28-year-old man was knocked unconscious and stabbed Sunday before he ran a block away, according to police.

A witness found the victim in the 1600 block of South Parkwood, near Harry and Edgemoor, with 16 stab wounds to his legs and called police at 1:50 a.m. Sunday.

Police later traced the trail of blood back to a house in the 1600 block of South Old Manor, a block away.

“The victim did say that he was hit over the head with a bottle, by unknown suspects, which caused him to pass out,” said Sgt. Ed Brower of the Wichita Police Department. “When he came to, he noticed that he was stabbed and that’s when he took off running.”

No arrests have been made.
