A mother called police Saturday morning saying her 17-year-old son had been stabbed by an unknown man.

The 54-year-old woman told police a man in his 20s stabbed her son in the back and side with a knife about 4:15 a.m. in the 1000 block of West 29th Street North, Sgt. John Hoofer said.

The mother took her son to the hospital, where he was treated and released. It’s not known what led to the incident, Hoofer said.
