Consumer lender, Intrust Bank

Wilson won’t break into song if you apply for a loan at Intrust Bank. But you’d probably enjoy it if she did.

The consumer lending officer is a talented singer who has performed the national anthem at Wichita State Shockers men’s basketball games and other sporting events.

“I do it just to keep polished,” she said. “It’s a good experience.”

Wilson, 33, grew up in St. Louis and earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from St. Louis University.

Initially aiming at a career in broadcasting, she took a job in banking mainly as a way to pay for school. But she found she likes the industry.

“It wasn’t really the plan, but I think the communications background helped a lot,” she said. “I have to deal with so many types of people in different economic backgrounds and cultures. It’s interesting because each (loan) application is different. I enjoy the customer service aspect of it. I enjoy being able to help people.”

She’s worked at Intrust since 2004, moving from loan operations to consumer loan coordinator. In May, she was promoted to consumer lender, with authority to approve loans.

“I’m actually training other people to do what I’ve been doing.”

Outside work, Wilson enjoys spending time with her two daughters – Sabrina, 6, and Sydney, 3 – and singing in church and at friends’ weddings.
