The heavy rain Tuesday afternoon didn’t just make Wichita’s evening commute soggy, it also washed away a page in the record book.

The 2.47 inches of rain that fell set a record for most rain on June 24 in the city, according to the National Weather Service. The old mark was 2.43 inches in 1995.

Oh, and by the way: More rain is possible Wednesday and Thursday.
