A man struck by a train Monday remained hospitalized with serious injuries, authorities said.

A Burlington Northern Santa Fe train struck the man, who was riding a bike, shortly before 7:45 a.m. at Pawnee and Hydraulic, a Sedgwick County dispatcher said. The accident was reported by the train’s crew.

The man was taken to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis for treatment of serious injuries. The victim, who police said was a man in his 50s, was riding to his job at the Spangles at Pawnee and K-15 when he was struck by the train, a store employee said.
