A Wichita man thought he was trading for an older Ford Mustang and some cash.

But what he ended up with was a stolen car.

Wichita Police Sgt. Ron Hunt said Saturday that the victim traded his 2004 Mustang to a group of men for $200 and a 1992 Mustang.

But when he was out driving the 1992 Mustang on Saturday morning, the rightful owner of the stolen car spotted it and called police.

Police stopped the victim in the area of the 200 block of West 13th Street.

Hunt said the victim was not arrested, and police continue to investigate.
