Wingnuts beat Amarillo 15-7

The Wingnuts pounded out 19 hits and battered Amarillo 15-7 on Friday night in Amarillo.

John Wise had two doubles and a homer, Colt Lohers homered and Carlo Testa had four hits and scored three times for Wichita.

Wise hit a three-run homer to cap the Wingnuts’ five-run fifth inning. His blast put Wichita ahead 8-2.

Brent Clevlen hit a two-run double in the sixth to make it 10-2, and Loehrs’ two-run blast in the eighth made it 12-2.

The Sox scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth off reliever Alan Williams, but the Wingnuts added three more runs in the ninth to keep a safe lead.

Justin Klipp started for Wichita and pitched six innings, allowing two unearned runs. He lowered his ERA to 0.93 and improved to 5-1.
