Cox Communications is adding home security monitoring and related services in Wichita and Omaha, the Atlanta-based company said.

The TV, Internet and phone provider said the new markets are in addition to six others where it offers the service: California, Oklahoma, New England, Ohio, Virginia and Las Vegas. Cox first launched the service in Arizona three years ago.

The company said its Cox Home Security services include: Around the clock home safety and intrusion monitoring; remote access to the service through a secure, online site and smartphone app; e-mail and text alerts; safety sensors to detect carbon monoxide and smoke; video monitoring and recording; and control of home lighting and temperature.

Pricing for the service begins at $49. More information is available at www.cox.com/homesecurity.
