Obama could explain his foreign policy by saying, “I think about thinking about making an ad hoc decision about each issue that I think I should be thinking about.”

President Truman always said, “The buck stops here.” That should happen with the VA scandal. Obama should be the one to resign.

The ideal candidate for VA chief would be one of the major complainers from the Republican Congress.

The VA problem is just like all big government departments. All you need to be in middle management is a degree. Nobody ever gets fired, just moved up. Wait until Obamacare gets underway. It will be run by politicians. It will make the VA look like a well-oiled machine.

What hypocrisy for Sen. Pat Roberts to chide President Obama for not taking responsibility in the VA scandal. Roberts takes no responsibility for trying to pull the wool over the eyes of Kansans by claiming he’s a legit resident. Infrequently occupying a recliner in someone’s house doesn’t make him a resident.

I get it. Pat Roberts was a Marine. He likes the Constitution. He doesn’t like affordable health care for all. But I am still waiting to hear anything that would make me want to vote to send him back to the U.S. Senate.

So the new approach by the federal government is to scrap employee performance reviews and give everyone the same raise. This is starting with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. This is ridiculous and will result in the good performers giving up.

I have bad news for you people who might want Ted Cruz to be president. Alas, he cannot. He was not born in the U.S. He was born in Canada. The Constitution states that only a “natural born citizen” can be president.

The Apostle Paul was commissioned by Jesus to write, “Do not be misled, whatever a person is sowing, this he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7). Eye for an eye. Divine justice. Yes, he did OK the death penalty for those who deserve it.

Gov. Sam Brownback has said that changes don’t start in Washington, D.C., they start at the state level. Let’s remember that this November. It’s our chance to make changes by voting him and his handpicked cronies out of office.

If Mayor Carl Brewer and the Wichita City Council can’t constrain themselves, voters will have to do it for them.

Around town there is water in sandpits and man-made subdivision lakes that seeped out of the Arkansas River. We should demand the public’s share of this water before we entertain the idea of a new water source.

“No” to an airport name change and “no” to a new library. Neither one is needed. Fix our streets and water. These are a must. “No” to everything else. Nothing else is an emergency.
