Tim Brown struck out nine batters in seven innings and Colt Loehrs scored four times, helping the Wingnuts beat the AirHogs 7-4 on Friday night in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Brown, who improved to 4-1, allowed six hits and didn’t walk a batter. He gave up a two-run homer in the second, but then threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings while his teammates gave him the lead.

The Wingnuts cut the deficit to 2-1 in the third when Ryan Khoury’s double drove home Loehrs. Loehrs made it 2-2 with a solo homer in the fifth, and later in the inning Khoury walked and scored on Carlo Testa’s triple. Loehrs opened the seventh with the single and scored on a base hit by Jake Kahaulelio to make it 4-2. In the ninth, Loehrs drove him Chris McClendon, and later scored ahead of David Amberson on a single by Kahaulelio to make it 7-2.

The teams are off on Saturday, then play a doubleheader Sunday afternoon in Grand Prairie.
