Master gardener Everett Price of Haysville has planted sweet corn, and placed okra seed in the ground between the lettuce plants so that the okra will grow up to take the place of the lettuce as it succumbs to the heat.

He and his wife, Michelle, continue to harvest asparagus, kale and lettuce.

See a video at kansas.com of Everett planting sweet corn.

The Suburban Garden Club will tour Everett’s garden at 10 a.m. Monday. For more information, call Floanna at 316-722-8868.
