Police are investigating why a 54-year-old man was found lying in the street with a head injury early Friday morning south of 13th and Grove, Lt. Dan East said.

The man was found unconscious at 5:07 a.m. in the 900 block of north Grove.

He was taken to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition, according to a Sedgwick County dispatcher. East said police “don’t know whether there was a criminal act that took place, or if he had a medical condition that caused him to fall.”

If anyone has information relating to this case, they are asked to call detectives at 316-268-4181 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.

“We’re investigating all angles,” East said.
