Fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich

Three stars out of four

Where is it? Bribiesca Concessions, WaterWalk food court

What is it? The concept behind the fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich is delightfully simple. Each sandwich begins its humble life as a pre-packaged Smucker’s Uncrustable PB&J, which then is dropped into the frier. After it is sufficiently fried, the sandwich is deftly cleaved into quarters and topped with a light coating of powdered sugar. It does the classic playground PB&J justice, though the powdered sugar on top makes it taste much more akin to a funnel cake with creamy peanut butter and grape jelly on top. The last time I checked with my taste buds, that was not a half-bad combination.

How much is it? $3
