The T-Bones battered starter Alan Williams for eight runs in the first three innings and beat the Wingnuts 9-4 on Tuesday night in Kansas City, Kan.

The Wingnuts’ offense tried to keep pace early, scoring a run in the first and pulling within 4-3 by scoring two in the top of the third. But KC began the bottom of the third with a single, a triple and a double to make the score 6-3, and one out later another single gave the T-Bones a 7-3 lead and ended Williams’ night. A two-out double off reliever Darrell Hudson drove home the eighth run.

The rough outing came on the heels of Williams’ best start of the season on Mary 29 against Laredo when he went six innings and allowed two runs. Williams (2-2) has allowed 25 hits and 15 walks in 19 2/3 innings this season.

Carlo Testa had a double, a triple and scored three of the Wingnuts’ four runs.

The teams continue their four-game series with a day game Wednesday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
