The new residence hall at Wichita State University will be full and then some when it opens in August, WSU officials said Thursday.

More than 775 students had applied to live at Shocker Hall as of May 14, WSU said in a prepared statement.

Anyone applying since May 14 will be put on a wait list.

If no rooms become available by Aug. 1, students on the wait list will be placed in Fairmount Towers, the statement said.

The hall is being built in what had been parking lot space between Cessna Stadium and Morrison Hall. It will include 782 beds, with a new 400-seat dining hall attached, the statement said.
