Contract for hangars at McConnell awarded to Chicago firm

The Army Corps of Engineers has awarded the contract for new hangars at McConnell Air Force Base to house the KC-46A Pegasus air refueling tankers to Archer Western Aviation Partners of Chicago, Ill, according to the public affairs officers for the 22nd Air Refueling Wing.

The $197 million contract includes a three-bay general maintenance hangar, a two-bay corrosion control and fuel cell hangar, and a single-bay general maintenance hangar, and an aircraft parking apron.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the project will be June 30.
