The end of the holiday weekend doesn’t mean the end of rain chances for the Wichita area.

Forecasters say there’s a decent chance for showers and thunderstorms in the region Tuesday, with highs reaching the low 80s under cloudy skies. Winds will be light out of the south.

Clouds will persist overnight, when lows are expected to settle in the low 60s. More rain is possible in the Wichita area.

Showers are possible but not likely on Wednesday, forecasters say, when highs will push into the mid-80s. Winds will be calm early and then stir out of the east later in the day.

Chances for showers will linger through the rest of the week in southern Kansas, forecasters say.
