A 54-year-old man told Wichita police Saturday that he was assaulted by a home intruder who said neighbors weren’t pleased with his TV-watching habits, authorities said.

The man said he was inside his home in the 1700 block of West University at about 10:45 p.m. when a man he didn’t know entered and confronted him, Wichita police Sgt. John Ryan said Sunday afternoon. The intruder told the man, “Your neighbors don’t like the type of movies you’re watching,” then proceeded to beat him, Ryan said.

As the intruder was leaving, he pulled the resident’s keys out of the door where they had been hanging and hurled them at him, Ryan said.

Ryan did not know what genre of movies supposedly prompted the alleged attack. The man’s home is west of Seneca and south of Maple.

No one has been arrested in the case, Ryan said Sunday afternoon. The intruder was described as a white man in his 20s with a balding head and tattoos covering both arms.
