Wichita weather: Sunny and cooler

A pleasant spring day is on the menu for the Wichita area on Thursday, forecasters say.

Highs will be in the mid- to upper 80s under a mostly sunny sky, with light southerly winds staying in the single digits to low teens. Showers and thunderstorms arrive overnight, when lows will settle in the mid-60s.

Showers and thunderstorms increase in likelihood in the Wichita area on Friday, forecasters say, when highs will climb into the mid-80s. Chances for showers and thunderstorms will continue through Memorial Day weekend.
