A 66-year-old Holyrood man died Friday when a semitruck struck his vehicle along an Ellsworth County road.

James L. Thach was southbound on Fifth Road when he failed to yield and pulled in front of a semi westbound on K-156 around 7:50 a.m., the Kansas Highway Patrol said in an online crash report. The semi hit Thach’s truck, sending it into a ditch, KHP said.

The two men in the semitruck were not hurt, KHP said. Both are from Florida and are in their 20s.
