Perry moves into lead at Regions Tradition

Birmingham, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Kenny Perry carded a 3-under 69 on Saturday to claim a 1-stroke lead at the season's first major, the Regions Tradition.

Perry finished 54 holes at Shoal Creek Club at 7-under-par 209. He is a two- time major winner on the Champions Tour, collecting back-to-back titles at the Senior Players Championship and U.S. Senior Open last year.

John Inman fired the low round of the day with a 6-under 66 to jump into second place at 6-under 210.

Second-round leader Mark Calcavecchia tripped to a 2-over 74 during his third round to fall into a tie with Jeff Maggert (69), Tom Pernice, Jr. (70), Olin Browne (72), John Cook (71), Steve Elkington (71) and Jay Haas (73) for third at 4-under.

Colin Montgomery (69) is alone in 10th at minus-3.
