Keturah Austin, director of communication for Andover schools, has left the post.

Austin, who has served as the district’s primary spokeswoman for 11 years, will become manager of corporate communications for Koch Industries. Her last day at Andover schools was Thursday.

The district posted the job opening on its website last week. Austin’s salary was $50,892, according to district officials.

“Though I have a fantastic opportunity and a new challenge ahead, it was a tough decision to leave,” Austin said in an e-mail. “This district means a lot to me, and I’m proud of all Andover has accomplished and will continue to do.”
