Two separate shootings in Wichita late Friday and early Saturday resulted in minor injuries, according to police.

A disturbance was reported around 11:15 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of East 17th Street. As officers arrived they heard a gunshot from one of the apartments, Sgt. John Hoofer said.

“As they approached the apartment, one subject came out of the front with an injury to his hand with a gunshot,” Hoofer said. “Several other individuals went out a back window of the same apartment and were caught in a field nearby. One of them had an injury to the back of his leg.”

Both victims – a 23-year-old man and a 26-year-old man – were transported to Wesley Medical Center with minor injuries.

The rest of the group was questioned by officers, Hoofer said. There is currently no suspect.

In another incident, a drive-by shooting was reported around 2 a.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of North Arkansas. Several people ages 18 to 21 saw a white Crown Victoria drive by and shots were fired from the vehicle.

One person had an injured foot and another had an injured leg. They were treated at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis.
